Product Description

This product is a light yellow crystalline substance. It is readily soluble in water but insoluble in alcohol. Its aqueous solution is acidic. The dehydration temperature is 86.5°C. When heated to 250°C, it loses its water of crystallization. Anhydrous aluminum sulfate begins to decompose when heated to 300°C. The anhydrous form is a white crystal with a pearly luster.

Application fields

Aluminum sulfate is primarily used as a sizing agent in papermaking and a flocculant for the treatment of drinking water, industrial water, and wastewater. It is also a raw material for the production of artificial gemstones and other aluminum salts, such as ammonium alum, potassium alum, and refined aluminum sulfate. Additionally, aluminum sulfate is widely used in the production of high-quality clarifiers, petroleum deodorizers and decolorizers, concrete waterproofing agents, high-grade paper bleaching, post-film treatment of titanium dioxide, and catalyst carriers.
