Properties: Colorless, transparent, in block form or crystalline powder. Odorless and non-toxic, it has a slightly sweet and astringent taste, with astringency. It is easily soluble in water, and its aqueous solution is acidic. When heated, it easily loses its crystal water and turns into a white powder.
Application fields
It is mainly used in water purification, paper sizing, coating and dyeing, pharmaceuticals, leather tanning, fiberboard processing, film fixing and hardening, rubber, metallurgy, and the colored glass industry. It can also be used for seed disinfection, treating livestock diseases, strengthening roots and promoting seedling growth, applying potassium fertilizer to alkaline soil, and as a food additive.
